When we offered to make a short film on any subject Andrew chose – as part of winning the National Emerging Architect Prize – we were a little surprised when he pitched the idea of the backs of street signs.
It was something he’d been thinking about for a while and he was pretty convincing. So a few weeks later we were in his car, driving the lengths of Sydney’s freeways on the hunt for the most epic signage we could find. And talking about his ideas on the aesthetics of resourcefulness.
