Koori Preschool provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 3 to 5 years with a play-based, culturally safe learning program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
This video is one of a series we produced for the ACT Government to launch the co-design – with families, children and community – of resources for the program, including a Koori Pre Cultural Safety Framework, Koori Pre Curriculum and resources to support Koori Preschool’s evolution in the ACT. It also shows parents who are new to the ACT what the program is, and what it’s about.
Filmed in late 2022, we worked with the schools, teachers and educators, parents and children to capture the spirit of a typical day at each of the five Koori Pre sites, and incorporated the program’s “proud, strong, deadly” graphics into a series of videos.
